COMMUNITY FIRST / WORKING FOR WOMEN SCHOLARSHIP

Applications are invited for a $1,000 scholarship to be awarded in 2015 to a woman who wishes to make herself more employable through education.

The scholarship:

  • Is open to women* 18 years old and over, from Saskatoon and area
  • May be applied to any type of study to increase employability 
  • Assists women in financial need with tuition costs, books and supplies, and/or education-related costs such as child care, transportation, etc.

To apply, please provide the following in writing:

(Please make your answers as complete as possible, to make certain the selection committee has a strong idea of your commitment and the challenges you face.)

1) Your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address.
2) What are your long-range employment goals? 
3) What barriers do you face?
4) What steps have you taken toward your employment goals? 
5) How would this scholarship assist you in meeting your goals?
6) What other financial resources do you have that may help in your education?
7) The names and contact information of two references.

Applications must be received by Community First by May 31, 2015

  • Applications will be reviewed by a community-based selection committee.
  • Preference will be given to candidates for whom $1,000 will make a significant difference.

The successful candidate will be contacted by June 30, 2015.
