Quint operates two Work Integration Social Enterprises. Through SWEEP and Build Up Saskatoon, we hire community members who struggle to obtain or maintain traditional employment — most of whom are coming out of corrections — and we provide not just full time work and job training but also wraparound support through our Support Worker, Talia. Our crews receive valuable work experience and learn new skills all while Talia works with them one-on-one to stabilize other key areas of their life.
This July, Talia:
- Worked with a crew member to find, apply for, and move into their first independent home
- Helped a crew member apply for a birth certificate and assisted another in applying for a health card
- Supported a crew member in applying for housing and making plans to regain custody of their children
- Attended court hearings and began working with a crew member’s lawyer to support their case
- Set two crew members up with counselling services
- Coordinated a debt consolidation presentation and connected crew members with further financial support
- Worked with Quint’s Cultural Coordinator to help him build a relationship with crew members
- Organized a joint birthday celebration for five crew members
- Drove crew members to and from city hall, court dates, medical appointments etc.
