Celebrating Success: Miali Rakotondravah

We would like to take the opportunity to recognize Miali’s contributions to our community and our organization, and we are pleased and look forward to continue working with you both as a tenant and a co-worker! Congratulations on all your successes!

Miali moved into Quint’s Affordable Housing Program in October 2011. When she came to us, she had recently arrived from Kenya and was expecting her 2nd child. Her husband was living and working in Ontario and she was looking for housing so they could start a new life in Saskatoon.

During the time Miali has lived with us, she found a job at Keyano Oma Early Learning Centre in St. Mary’s Education & Wellness Centre as a daycare worker where her children, Andy and Nathan, attended. During this time she began her studies in Early Childhood Education.

After being employed with Keyano Oma for 2 years, she applied for the administrative assistant position with Quint and began working with us in September of 2014. In January of this year, she again decided to expand her education and is currently taking the Occupational Health and Safety course through Sask Polytechnic.

As an Affordable Housing Program resident, Miali, and her family, have participated in several tenant association functions, such as BBQ’s, potlucks and meetings. Miali has faced challenges with language but, as in all her activities, she rolls up her sleeves and gets the job done. Miali has proven to be a great asset to the Quint team. All of her work is completed with attention to detail and in a timely fashion. She understands what needs to get done for the office to run efficiently by taking initiative and not waiting to be asked. We enjoy Miali sharing the learnings of her culture, her experiences and her life stories. She always has a smile on her face and a positive, friendly attitude.
