Working together to strengthen communities
Kohkums in Toyland is about Spirit
Quint Saskatoon | November 29, 2016

Kohkums in Toyland is about spirit. Christmas spirit for sure. But really the story is about that spirit where generosity, sharing, and giving come from.

Curtis Peeteetuce's story about how we act and react in our lives is all about spirit. And the cast and crew, including Curtis, in last night's presentation for our community at Station 20 West were wonderful examples of spirit. And honesty. Not only in their excellent performances but in how their own spirits came through in their storytelling.

About 120 people from our community shared a wonderful time together -- both by coming together to the performance and in the sharing of the fabulous treats prepared by Pam Woodsworth in the Boxcar Café. Again, yet another an act of kind spirit and generosity by Pam for our community.

Pam and Curtis are wonderful examples in our community of nīkānīwin -- leadership. Kinanaskomitinawaw (thank you all).

If you haven't yet seen Kohkums in Toyland, you still have a chance when the Gordon Tootoosis Nīkānīwin Theatre gets back from their tour that starts today in First Nation communities across the province, when they are at the Broadway Theatre.
